Summary

Semi-pro (AKA weekend warrior, some weekday nights too), musician. Bass guitar primary instrument, backup vocals, lead vocal on very rare occasion. Electric guitar a secondary instrument. Drums, drum machines, keyboards, Moog Taurus pedals were indulged in from time to time.

Played in Syracuse area hard rock, metal, bands. A few stints in top 40 rock bands. Over the years there were many bands that were short lived, names long forgotten. A few that existed for some time, and gigged in the local area venues (apart from Albino’s warehouse.) Havoc, Menace, No Mercy, Roxen, Vixyen were a few that I remember over 38 years as a musician. Left the live music scene in the late 90’s and still play for my own enjoyment.

Instruments included 4/5/8 string basses with 5 string bass being instrument of choice. Very first bass was a Univox Precision copy. My first real bass was a 72 or 74 Rickenbacker that I will also regret trading. Hamer Blitz bass with low D lever, and a Washburn 5 string were my workhorses. Another bass I regret selling was the Kramer 8 string. A bit of chorus and reverb sounded just huge. My current bass is a Yamaha 5 string.

My early years I found myself playing guitar some, and there was a bunch of axes I wish I never sold along with a Marshall bass head that just screammed for guitar.

My main rig was massive for local club scene, consisting of a 1200 watt tri amped rack powering two cabinet’s consisting of 2-18”, 2-12” speakers with a horn array. This would cover a fundamental low B tuning, synthesizers, and moog pedals.

Front end processing at the time was a ART Nightbass Preamp, SPX90, and a few other rack effects, and was tethered to a custom built pedal board with full midi control. Pedal board was also outfitted with Taurus pedals, that were were upgraded with a midi controller.
